This video shows you the beautiful full arrival in timelapse to Mariscal Sucre Quito Airport (UIO / SEQM) in Ecuador. We take you inside the Boeing 747 cockpit through the cloud deck and along the mountainous terrain. The landing is shown from the pilots window view in real time on runway 36. Quito is one of the highest elevated airports in the world. It is located in very mountainous terrain on a hill with a steep canyon on short final creating potentially challenging winds for landing. It is therefore classified as a category C airport, requiring special training for the pilots before being allowed to fly to Quito.
